I decided that since our founding father is from St. Clair Michigan, I would put a spotlight on some upcoming events from that area. A little brown nosing never hurt anybody right? Just kidding!

In all seriousness though, St. Clair has some pretty cool things to do and see, and it not too far to drive even with gas being a gajillion dollars a gallon right now.

They are celebrating 150 years this year so there's a lot of historical stuff going on, most of which you can find out about by going to http://www.cityofstclair.com or http://www.stclair150.org

On Wednesdays in the summer, they do a farmers market in the parking lot of the Riverview Plaza from 7:30 am to 1pm. Fresh, locally grown produce, plants, and usually arts and crafts as well abound, its worth checking out.

There are going to be a couple special Huron Lady II cruises going on the 17th and the 18th of this month, they leave from the dock in downtown Port Huron and head down to St. Clair. Its a historical thing , and its narrarated too. The boat leaves at noon, and then I think again at 3pm those days, and the tickets are 25 bucks. You can visit the Huron Lady website @ http://www.huronlady.com or you can go to http://www.stclairchamber.com for more info or to make reservations.

On July 19th at sunset there is going to be a Venetian Lighted Boat Parade, which is pretty awesome to see, it takes off from the St. Clair Harbor I'm pretty sure.

On the 20th there is going to be a St. Clair SESQUICENTENNIAL Parade in Downtown St. Clair at 1pm (say THAT 5 times fast)

Don't forget that on July 24th to July 27th there is the Riverfest Carnvial in Downtown St. Clair . Mmmmm carnival food. I havent had my elephant ear yet this year, so color me there, lol!

Finally, July 25th to July 27th is the return of the St. Clair River Classic Offshore Races, at which there is a TON of stuff to see, hear, smell, eat, drink, etc....

Wow! If you think about it, thats a lot of stuff between now and the end of the month, and there's more events to do with the 150 year celebration that I didnt list. Looks like the sleepy little town if St. Clair is waking up.

Sweet post! Thanks!

The 'Events' section is a great place to list events - business and pleasure.

Thanks!
